As an anthology series, it really doesn't matter what order you watch episodes of
Love, Death & Robots in. Each short is a standalone story covering an adult-themed topic such as racism, government, free will, and more. These episodes, which run between six to 17 minutes in length, also feature their own unique animation style.
Point being, this sort of approach to storytelling is unique to Netflix and the streaming service is using this opportunity to experiment some more. Specifically, Netflix acknowledged that they are doing something completely new with
Love, Death & Robots: presenting the series to viewers with different episode orders.
Netflix revealed that there are four different episode order list possibilities, though the company declined to elaborate on what factors determine which list you are presented with. Netflix did shut down some scary theories, confirming that the episode order you are shown is not based on any sort of personal information such as gender, ethnicity, or sexual identity.
Sentient dairy products, werewolf soldiers, robots gone wild, garbage monsters, cyborg bounty hunters, alien spiders and blood-thirsty demons from hell – all converge in eighteen NSFW animated stories.
Presented by Tim Miller and David Fincher,
Love, Death & Robots is now streaming on Netflix
