Since 2009, LAIKA film studios have been apart of bringing the unique and highly impressive skill of stop-motion animation back into the mainstream. Being a form of animation that isn't touched on very often, some of the most prominent classic works being The Nightmare Before Christmas, LAIKA has managed to bring to light its ability to tell compelling and entertaining stories, starting with its debut film Coraline, in 2009.
Since then, four more films have released, each with their own specific style and vibe that has earned itself multiple awards. Following Coraline was Paranorman, a supernatural family film that brought even more eyes to the studio. From there came The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings; two very different films that have their own tone and style yet all in stop motion.
Since its most recent release, Missing Link, last year, LAIKA has officially crossed the 15-year mark of making movie magic for audiences around the globe. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the studio has released a short film that celebrates its filmography and is even offering digital purchases of their films at a special discounted price so more people can watch it while at home!
Here's to another 15 years of fabulous filmmaking and artistic skill! Make sure to check out the short video below and don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments below!
