Star Wars is known for having long-time fans. What you may not know is that some of those long-time fans are also long-time employees of the franchise. This is the case for Matthew Wood, voice-actor and veteran employee of LucasFilm. You know Wood's harsh, raspy mechanical vocals from the character General Grievous. Grievous, famous for his multiple-lightsaber-wielding skills and "General Kenobi" line, first appeared in
Revenge of the Sith and then went on to play a part in the TV series
Clone Wars. Wood has provided the voice of Grievous each time.
Speaking with Red Carpet News TV in an interview covered by ComicBook.com, Woods commented on the upcoming revival of the fan favorite
Clone Wars. Says Wood:
I love working on Star Wars, I’ve been doing it a long time now — this week it’ll be 28 years. Dave Filoni was one of the best things that ever happened to Lucasfilm, and I’m very happy that he’s able and has a lot of the original crew back to come and tell more Clone Wars stories. That for us is really exciting.
(Davd Filoni is an animator and major driving force behind Clone Wars)
Wood's Grievous has not been confirmed for the Clone Wars revival, but the popularity of the character in Star Wars media does give him a good shot at making the cut. Clone Wars will rturn to your screens sometime in 2019, via the Disney-specific streaming service that the company is developing. Until then, keep an eye on our site.
