Frosty the Snowman will begin airing tonight, December 5, on FreeForm. The beloved holiday classic will air a total of six times on FreeForm in December as part of the cable network's '25 Days of Christmas' lineup.
The Christmas special about that jolly happy sold with a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal first debuted in 1969 and has been providing holiday joy each year ever since. This year, you can catch the animated short film on the following dates and times on FreeForm:
- Saturday, Dec. 5, 8:45 p.m./ 7:45c
- Sunday, Dec. 6, 5:05 p.m./ 4:05c
- Saturday, Dec. 19, 4:55 p.m./ 3:55c
- Sunday, Dec. 20, 3:25 p.m./ 2:25c
- Thursday, Dec. 24, 8:15 p.m./ 7:15c
- Friday, Dec. 25, 4:30 p.m./ 3:30c
If you don't get FreeForm, Frosty the Snowman will also air on CBS on Saturday, December 12 at 9:00 p.m (you can check out CBS's holiday lineup as well here). Unfortunately, for cord-cutters without cable television, FreeForm and CBS are your only ways to catch the animated holiday special this year as it's not available on any streaming service, such as Netflix or Disney+. However, if you have CBS All Access or Hulu Live, you can stream CBS live via those services.
Frosty the Snowman is also available to purchase digitally. You can find it on iTunes, Vudu and FandangoNOW for around $10.
For those unfamiliar with this holiday special, Frosty the Snowman is based on the timeless song of the same name. The story follows a group of school children who build a snowman that comes to life with the help of a discarded magic hat. But as temperatures rise, the children try to help Frosty reach the North Pole before he melts. At the same time, Professor Hinkle chases them in an attempt to get back his magic hat.
