In the latest episode of the long-running animated series Family Guy, Peter and Meg find themselves trapped amid a Korean prison. The pair need to think of a way to breakout Meg quickly suggests "an impossible video game escape," to which Peter responds "can it be GoldenEye?"
The animated show them launches into a first-person perspective and a Nintendo 64-level of graphics quality. It's clear that Seth McFarlane, the show's creator, and the rest of the crew knew their stuff when recreating the iconic video-game. The sketch opens with a dossier of objectives before Meg begins to takedown multiple guards GoldenEye style.
The skit looks pretty similar to the renowned game in terms of appearance, though Peter's remarks are what make it. The father tells his daughter that "this is what 1997 looked like," and as Meg guns them down, Peter states that "it's less sad because they don’t bleed" - just like in the game itself.
