Beavis and Butt-Head is a classic American animated sitcom that aired on MTV back in the 1990s. The adult animated series originally ran for seven seasons from March 1993 to November 1997. In 2011, Beavis and Butt-Head returned for an eighth season. Similarly, the series is now set for another revival.

Original series creator Mike Judge, who is also responsible for creating King of the Hill, will be teaming up with Comedy Central to bring back Beavis and Butt-Head in the modern era (via The Hollywood Reporter) — or rather a "whole new Gen Z world." Judge will serve as writer, producer, and also voice the two titular characters.

The classic series was generally acclaimed for its satirical and scathing commentary on society. Such aspects will almost certainly return in the upcoming revival.

Chris McCarthy, ViacomCBS' President of Entertainment & Youth Brands, had the following to say about the revival:

"We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central. Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own."

Meanwhile, Judge simply said the following: "It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again."

ViacomCBS hasn't only ordered two seasons of Beavis and Butt-Head but also additional spinoffs and specials. At the moment, there's no telling when any of this will come to fruition.
