In August of last year, Capcom announced that they would be pulling
Ducktales Remastered from digital storefronts. The game, much like the name appropriately suggests, is a remastered version of the original NES game of the same name ‚ which is based on Disney's popular
Ducktales animated series from the late 80s.
Today, for reasons we may not be able to comprehend, Capcom has announced that the game has been brought back to digital stores —which is quite the opportunity for those players who never got the chance to play
Ducktales Remastered when it first released.
As revealed by Capcom today,
Ducktales Remastered has become available, once again, on the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One(via backwards compatibility), and Steam's respective online stores.
While we don't know the reason why Capcom decided to bring the game back, especially after being pulled from online stores 6 months ago, it is nice to see them paying attention to
Ducktales Remastered. Hopefully that will prompt them to release the game on current gen consoles, or even consider remastering the second game; fans will be happy, regardless.
Go back to one of the golden ages of gaming, but now refined with a level of detail that will please the most devoted Disney or retro Capcom fan, alike. Featuring hand-drawn animated sprites, authentic Disney character voices talent and richly painted level backgrounds from the classic cartoon TV series, Scrooge McDuck and family come to life like never before. The gameplay retains the authenticity of its 8-bit predecessor, simple and fun, with slight modifications to improve gameplay flow and design.
Ducktales Remastered is currently available for the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One (via Backwards Compatibility), and Steam.
