BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Is Returning In A New Comic Series From Paul Dini
DC Comics is releasing a new 6-issue miniseries set in the world of Batman: The Animated Series this April, written by original showrunners Paul Dini & Alan Burnett, with art from Ty Templeton.
Titled Batman: The Adventures Continue, a new 6-issue miniseries that serves as a continuation of the beloved Batman: The Animated Series cartoon will be released this April. The series will be digital-first, and reunites the old, original Batman Adventures tie-in comic team of Paul Dini, Alan Burnett and artist Ty Templeton.
The reveal in Entertainment Weekly states that the new miniseries is aimed to add new characters to the Batman: The Animated Series toylines from DC Collectibles. Specifically, characters who never appeared in the show like Jason Todd (Robin and Red Hood), Azrael and Deathstroke are set to appear in the comic and receive tie-in action figures.
Paul Dini teases (a character that certainly sounds like Red Hood), "There’s a stranger in town who has staked out the Batman family, who knows them very well, and is watching them from a distance with a mixture of amusement and deep hatred. That’s gonna be a challenge and concern for them at some point. The guy is so good that even though Batman and the others get glimpses of him, they have no idea who he is or what he wants, and that’s a mystery for them to solve."
The digital-first series will release its first issue in April while physical copies hit comic book shops on May 6, 2020.
