HBO Max will soon release the next chapter in The Flintstones life with the kids animated program, Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs. The series plants a focus on Fred and WIlma's bright daughter, Pebbles, and Barney and Betty's bash-happy son, Bamm-Bamm.
The kids animated series follows the duo as they grow out of the confines of their hometown of Bedrock and find themselves beyond the limits of the modern Stone Age civilization to find the real "yabba dabba doo" moments ahead. Outside of the city fraught with domesticated dinosaurs, including their loyal pet, Dino, they call The Crags, they can find new friends in new lands.
It seems as though Pebbles has grown into an adventurous scamp, acting as the leader between the two while Bamm-Bamm, as his name kind of implies, takes on the role of the muscle who always needs something to smack.
Emmy nominee, Jessica DeCicco, is slated to contribute her voice to the leading character of Pebbles beside Ely Henry as Bamm-Bamm. Jeff Bergman finds himself in the role of both Fred Flintstone and Mr. Slate with Kevin Michael Richardson taking the role of Barney Rubble. In terms of wives, Grey Griffin and Tress MacNeille are slated to play Wilma and Betty respectively.
The Flintstones itself has a storied history with it holding a record as the most financially successful and longest-running network animated TV program until 1989's The Simpsons managed to outlast it after giving in the towel after a fruitful three decades.
Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs starts streaming on HBO Max on September 30. Read the official synopsis:
"Best friends Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble are two kids from the town of Bedrock, a modern Stone Age civilization where dinosaurs are domesticated and helpful, including their lovable and loyal pet Dino. But the real “yabba dabba doo” times are had in the open wilderness outside of Bedrock city limits in a place they call The Crags! There, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm meet a never-ending roster of prehistoric pals and explore environments that are as wild, colorful, and surprising as the dinosaurs who live there."
