The long-awaited, fourth season of Rick and Morty will be arriving back in November. The creators of the irreverent animated series recently did an interview with
Entertainment Weekly in which they revealed that the
fourth season will consist of ten episodes, they've already begun working on the fifth season, and some cameo appearances that the upcoming season will include.
Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland revealed that Taika Waititi will make an apperance at some point in the fourth season of
Rick and Morty. He's best known for directing
Thor Ragnarok and
Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
Speaking of the latter film, the creators of the show also revealed that Sam Neill will feature in season four. Neill is best known for playing the lead in
Jurassic Park as well as the aformentioned Waititi film.
EW asked whether Neill will be riffing on his roles in
Event Horizon or
Jurassic Park. The creators explained that he wouldn't be playing off of those roles, instead they wanted him and Taika as they're both from New Zealand.
"He’s from the same species as Taika’s character, and we wanted a Kiwi flavor to their species,” Roiland teased.
Additionally, Paul Giamatti and Kathleen Turner will make cameo appearances in season four. The former is best known for the TV series
Billions and the latter is most well-known for the classic film named
Romancing the Stone.
