WARNER BROS.: Sam Register Appointed President Of Warner Animation And Overseeing Cartoon Network
Sam Register has officially been promoted to President of Warner Bros. Animation, bringing in Cartoon Network as its studio head Rob Sorcher moves to Warner Bros. Television Group.
Things over at Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation are getting shaken up with a new announcement from Variety that talks about Head of WBA, Sam Register, being moved up to president of the company while also now overseeing Cartoon Network! This now means that Head of Cartoon Network Studios Rob Sorcher will be carried over to Warner Bros. Television Group!
Register is best known for bringing multiple DC animated properties to life, including Teen Titans Go To The Movies. When discussing his new position and responsibilities, Register stated, “By aligning two of the industry’s most powerful animation studios, we will unleash incredible opportunities for artists to flourish and an unprecedented amount of animation for fans to devour...Together we have a shared opportunity to create a new culture of collaboration – one built on both the historic importance of Warner Bros. Animation and the commitment to new original voices that is the trademark of Cartoon Network Studios.” Register started his career in Cartoon Network, bringing shows like Clone Wars and Ben 10 to life.
With the change in position for Sorcher, he stated, “I am honored to have played my part in producing the artistry, innovation, and heart of Cartoon Network Studios, bringing joy to generations of young people around this world...I would like to thank Warner Bros. Television Group for embracing my wide-ranging interests, and I’m energized by the potential of this next chapter.” This new change in leadership will help to boost the creativity across all of the companies while still remembering the past success that has brought them to where they are now.
