Dan Harmon has found his calling in the field of animation. After penning a ten-season deal for Rick and Morty with Adult Swim, the creator is also working on Krapopolis, a Greek animation for Fox set to launch in 2022.

Add to that Harmon's upcoming Apple TV+ adaptation of the webcomic Strange Planet, and it's understandable why people associate the creator with cartoons. However, many people are also familiar with a live-action project of his - Community.

Over five seasons, Rick and Morty has been slowly introducing characters voiced by the main cast members of Community, with Dan Harmon reuniting with each of them one by one. Jeff's Joel McHale and Britta's Gillian Jacobs voiced previous characters like Bucket Head and Supernova.

While there haven't been appearances yet of Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, and understandably Chevy Chase, Community cast members Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, John Olliver, and Keith David have also lent their voice talents to the series, with the latter appearing in multiple episodes and as several characters. The episode titled Unity even went so far as to show the likenesses of the main characters from the comedy, which you can see below.

Sunday night saw the newest Community cast member addition with Annie Eddison actress Alison Brie suiting up to deliver her voice talents as Planetina, a character that is a jab at Captain Planet and a weird love interest for Morty. With that being said, it leaves Yvette Nicole Brown, the actress who played Shirley Bennett, to be one of the last to be left out, so she took to Instagram to congratulate Brie and playfully call out Harmon for not inviting her to appear on the series.

As you can see, Brown is clearly happy for them, and she's clearly joking. Still, it's worth noting that she had mentioned publicly multiple times in the past that she would love to appear on Rick and Morty. The actress and comedienne followed her post with another, which shows her and Harmon playfully exchanging blows.

Hopefully, this will lead to an open door for Yvette Nicole Brown to appear in Rick and Morty Season 6. Perhaps, after seeing her passion for the prospect and to make up for her long wait, Harmon will offer her a recurring role, but for now, we'll have to wait and see while happily enjoying any more Planetina to come.

What do you guys think? Would you like to hear Yvette Nicole Brown in Rick and Morty? Did you enjoy Annie vibes when listening to Brie's performance? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments, and check out our exclusive video interview with Summer Smith voice actress Spencer Grammer below!

Spencer Grammer is in the house! The actress and voice performer behind Rick & Morty's Summer Smith stops by the show to talk about the character now that she's voiced her for a decade!

We dig deep into Summer's character arc and how a mixture of her own personality and the writing helped lend to that growth. Discussing which characters she'd like to see re-visit the show, we shared plenty of laughs about Bucket Head, Snowball, Summer's ex, and more.

We joke about a potential crossover where she finds her ex-boyfriend in the Solar Opposites wall and what dimension Summer would choose to visit with Rick's portal gun - The Neverending Story.

Talk turns to her father, Frasier and X-Men star Kelsey Grammer, and we discuss why he doesn't watch Rick and Morty, and we even cook up a jestful scheme that would see the actor play Summer's father from a different dimension, as Frasier.

Spencer shares tidbits about her decade of experience with the show and makes it clear that she has no plans to leave the character of Summer behind, as well as talking to us about a few of her other projects.

It was a ton of fun, and make sure to tune in next week when we chat with Beth and Jerry voices Sarah Chalke and Chris Parnell!

Rick and Morty Season 5 launches new episodes on Sundays at midnight.

@ewelchd2 - Lmao precisely why I said "understandably Chevy Chase" I'm honestly surprised Harmon used his likeness in the Unity episode instead of Dean, Ken, Frankie, Hickey, Elroy, or even Duncan.
