This year has seen a lot of news for the Resident Evil franchise that many people were probably never expecting. Following the surprise announcement of the eight titles in the game series, two new series were also confirmed for Netflix, a live-action and an animated series.
With casting underway for the live-action adaption of the franchise, there had only been a brief teaser of the new animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The new series follows an in-canon story that stars Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Not much is known in regards to where or when the story will take place in the overall narrative, but either way, it looks like the dangers and the haunted house aesthetic made famous in the original are still maintained.
Recently, Netflix released two new stills of the story's main heroes that show the characters in a much younger light, but also in not so young that they look new to the outbreak. There is still so much more to learn ahead of the release, but at this rate, it seems like Netlfix has things handled a lot better than the Umbrella Corporation.
Not since Resident Evil: Vendetta has an animated property based in the world of the game looked so promising. We would love to hear your thoughts on the new stills in the usual spot!
The player controls Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who must escape Raccoon City after its citizens are transformed into zombies by a biological weapon two months after the events of the original Resident Evil.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is coming soon to Netflix!
