Just the other day, the first official trailer for
Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege was released online —
more on that here. The upcoming animated series will be the first of three arcs, the second of which will be called
"Earthrise," while the title of the third is currently unknown.
Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege is set to debut on Netflix under their new anime banner at some point within the remainder of 2020. It's a collaboration involving the aforementioned streaming service, Hasbro, Rooster Teeth, and Polygon Pictures. The latter will handle the animation while Rooster Teeth, the studio known for
RWBY and
gen:LOCK, produces.
It's said that the upcoming Netflix original will be available globally — which means that you don't have to worry about it not being available to stream within your region.
Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege will consist of six episodes, each of about 22-minute length.
Following the debut of the official trailer, Netflix shared a length synopsis for the upcoming animated series' first arc. You can check that out below (via
What's on Netflix):
TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON TRILOGY: SIEGE begins in the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The war that has torn apart their home planet of Cybertron is at a tipping point. Two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron, both want to save their world and unify their people, but only on their own terms. In an attempt to end the conflict, Megatron is forced to consider using the Allspark, the source of all life and power on Cybertron, to “reformat” the Autobots, thus “unifying” Cybertron. Outnumbered, outgunned, and under SIEGE, the battle-weary Autobots orchestrate a desperate series of counterstrikes on a mission that, if everything somehow goes right, will end with an unthinkable choice: kill their planet in order to save it.
