A teaser trailer for Blood of Zeus was previously released for Netflix's Geeked Week 2023 and fans expected a full trailer to follow shortly thereafter. Instead, it seems Netflix opted to release a clip. The clip also confirms that the series will be released on May 15, 2024.

The American animated fantasy television series Blood of Zeus follows Heron, the demigod son of Zeus, as he fights a demonic army to defend humanity. PowerHouse Animation Studios provided the animation for the program, which was produced by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides. The creators previously revealed that they have five seasons planned.

Powerhouse outsourced the bulk of the animation to Korean animation studios MUA Film (formerly known as Moi Animation) and Hanho Heung-Up Co.

The voice cast for the series features Derek Phillips as Heron, Elias Toufexis as  Seraphim, Jason O’Mara as Zeus, Claudia Christian as Hera,  Chris Diamantopoulos as Poseidon, Matthew Mercer as Hermes, Adam Croasdell as Apollo, Jessica Henwich as Alexia, and Fred Tatasciore as Hades.

Blood of Zeus is an action-packed, graphically stunning animated series that explores many fascinating subjects. Despite a few noticeable flaws, it is a must-watch for fans of Greek mythology and fantasy adventures.

After Heron discovers that he is a demigod, he uses his newfound abilities to stop a powerful army under the command of Hera and Seraphim (his own half-brother) from destroying the planet. He has to unify the Greek people against the approaching battle, learn how to harness his powers, and win the approval of the other gods in the process.

In a previous interview with Collider, executive producer Charley Parlapanides teased what season 2 would explore with the introduction of Hades in the season 1 finale.

"But to be clear, like we don't see Hades as a villain. If you know Greek mythology, he was actually one of the more kind of level-headed ones. And that moment at the end is meant to be more kind of like a Sysiphus or Prometheus type ending, where, you know, the eternal kind of punishment that you might have to face the thing that you despise the most is the thing that you have to repeat over and over again. But there are clues in the first season, in shots, and in moments that allude to more in the underworld and more with Hades, and that, you know, we have so many directions and things and stories we want to tell, that will involve him."
