Disney are currently in the midst of a renaissance of sorts for their animated classics. This is because they're remaking them all in a live-action format. Already, we've seen remakes
Aladdin,
Cinderella,
Beauty and the Beast, and many more.
The Lion King will be arriving tomorrow and
Mulan is set to debut in March of next year.
However, what of their more modern animated classics like
Tangled,
Moana, and
Frozen? Many are presuming that these films will also get the live-action remake treatment eventually. And who would be better to play one of their lead characters than the voice actor behind them?
Zachary Levi played the role of Flynn Rider in
Tangled alongside Mandy Moore as Rapunzel. The former actor recently explained, during a panel at CCXP Cologne (via
Comicbook.com), why he probably won't play the character in a hypothetical, live-action remake of the film.
"I mean, I think the obvious choice would be to play Flynn Rider in a live-action [Tangled]," Levi was asked what animated character he would like to play in live-action. He explained that, while he might seen like an obvious choice for the role, he isn't getting any younger.
But as much as I would love to play Flynn Rider in a live-action Tangled, by the time they get around to that, I don’t think I’m gonna be the right guy to play that role [laughs]. I’ll be there coaching that guy, I’ll make sure he understands what that smolder means, but I think my hair will be like Steve Martin white by the time they do a live-action Tangled. So in lieu of playing Flynn Rider in a live-action Tangled, I would say, I don’t know... Ariel from The Little Mermaid, maybe.
