The holiday season is in full swing and FreeForm is celebrating all month long with its "25 Days of Christmas" lineup. As I previously mentioned, tonight marks the premiere of Frosty the Snowman, the animated classic about the jolly snowman brought to life by a magic hat. Also premiering tonight, however, is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, another beloved holiday special.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a stop-motion animated special that first premiered in 1964. It's based on the iconic Johnny marks song of the same name (which was based on the poem of the same name written in 1939). In any case, it recounts the story of the famed reindeer Rudolph who was born with a glowing red nose. It's a timeless story all about how being different is special.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will premiere tonight on FreeForm, but there are multiple times you'll be able to catch the special this holiday season. Here's FreeForm's current schedule for the short:
- Saturday, Dec. 5, 7:40 p.m./ 6:40c
- Sunday, Dec. 6, 5:40 p.m./ 4:40c
- Saturday, Dec. 19, 5:30 p.m./ 4:30c
- Sunday, Dec. 20, 4:00 p.m./ 3:00c
- Thursday, Dec. 24, 8:50 p.m./ 7:50c
- Friday, Dec. 25, 5:00 p.m./ 4:00c
In addition to FreeForm, you'll be able to watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on CBS on Sunday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. (also available via CBS All Access or Hulu Live). Unlike Frosty the Snowman, which isn't available on any streaming service, you can watch Rudolph on IndieFlix. You can also purchase it digitally on iTunes, Vudu and FandangoNOW.
