Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! goes deep into the franchise's rogues gallery and unearth's some of Mystery Inc.'s most iconic villains in an all-new animated film set to release this October.

With spooky season right around the corner, Warner Bros. Entertainment is gearing up for the return of everyone's favorite mystery-solving gang. The studio announced today Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!, an all-new original animated film that will surely appeal to longtime fans of the decades-old franchise. That's because the studio has gone back and dived deep into the franchise's rogues gallery and brought back some of Mystery Inc.'s most iconic villains as part of an all-new mystery to solve.

Trick or Treat, Scooby-Doo! follows Mystery Inc. as they've tracked down Coco Diablo, head of the notorious costume syndicate responsible for creating the famous costumes for some of Scooby's most infamous villains such as The Black Knight, Space Kook and the Ghost Diver. With Coco locked away, the gang finally looks to enjoy the Halloween festivities in Coolsville, only to have their celebration interrupted by menacing doppelgänger ghosts and favorite classic foes.

Who's the scoundrel behind the latest threat? The case begins when Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! arrives on Digital and DVD in October. Check out the first trailer for the upcoming film below.

The latest film features the return of familiar voice talents, including Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo/Fred Jones, Grey DeLisle as Daphne Blake, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers and Kate Micucci as Velma Dinkley. At the helm of Trick or Treat, Scooby-Doo! is Cecilia Aranovich Hamilton, who also directed 2021's Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly DogShe directs from a script written by Mike Ryan, who also wrote Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!, which runs just over an hour at 72-minutes, will release on Digital on October 4th for $14.99 and on DVD on October 18th for $19.98. The film will also be available on Cartoon Network and HBO Max during this year’s annual Scoobtober celebration, which typically runs during the entire month of October.

Purchasing the film on Digital or DVD will also get you three bonus episodes: El Bandito, Headless Horseman of Halloween, and To Switch a Witch. This is an additiona 71 minutes of bonus episode runtime.

The announcement of Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! comes weeks after Warner Bros. scrpped Scoob!: Holiday Haunt, a spinoff that was slated to premiere on HBO Max this December. The film, which was in post-production, would've featured younger versions of the Mystery Gang as they head to a holiday-themed resort owned by Fred's Uncle Ned and are forced to solve a 40-year-old mystery to save the resort from a ghostly haunting.
