Formerly titled The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge; The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run is an upcoming 3D animated film from Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies. Of course, it's based on the popular cartoon series of the same name. Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks) serves as director.
The animated movie will see Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Roger Bumpass, Clancy Brown, and more voice actors from the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon series reprise their roles. Additionally, the movie will feature Awkwafina (The Farewell), Reggie Watts (The Late Late Show with James Corden), and Keanu Reeves (John Wick).

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run is the latest in a long line of movies to be hit with a delay. However, it isn't too severe in this case. It was set to debut on July 31st; the animated movie will now arrive in theatres on August 7th, 2020 (via Deadline). It takes the release date of sci-fi action movie Infinite — which itself has been delayed to May 2021.
