The Dove Seal of Approval for all ages has been officially given to Lionsgate's new straight-to-DVD animated feature film
The Ladybug, which will be buzzing into stores on November 20th. It is an adorable and fun-packed family adventure that boasts of perseverence and bravery.
The film is being lead by Lisa "Lisbug" Schwartz, a Youtube Personality with over two million views. The cast also includes Teen Choice Award Winner Haylie Duff
(Napoleon Dynamite), Jon Heder
(Blades of Glory), Norm Macdonald
(Billy Madison). While it's not to say that these actors have been entirely out of work, in recent years they have become a bit under the radar and haven't starred in any hits. The question is, will voice starring in a straight-to-DVD animated film like this help their careers, or will it be another job no one happens to see them do?
Longing for the beauty and freedom of the Golden Canyon, a plucky ladybug named Ruby escapes her laboratory cage and joins forces with Master Dan, a crafty dragonfly. With help from an artistic earwig, a hungry frog king, and a stinky dung beetle, they make their way to this magival land.
The film is expected to be priced at $19.98 and the special features on the DVD will include a Giving the Characters a Voice: At the Recording Studio With Lisa "Lisburg" Schwartz, Haylie Duff, Jon Heder, and Norm Macdonald featurette.
