Earlier this month, musical artist Post Malone
appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed a brief snippet of his new song "
Sunflower," which will be featured in Sony's upcoming animated film
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This week, the "
Rockstar" artist released the full track, along with a music video that contains all-new footage from the movie.
The video features plenty of extraordinary footage from Sony's animated film, including various shots of Miles Morales throughout the day. From his getting ready to school to discovering his powers to meeting Peter Parker in the graveyard (which was also part of the
Ven post-credits sequences), there are lots of intriguing moments that have us exciting for the film's release.
As for the track itself, it's got a laid-back vibe that certainly fits the tone of
Into the Spider-Verse, which focuses on Brooklyn teen Miles Morales who is thrust into the role of the iconic web-slinger and, under the mentorship of an older Peter Parker, is introduced to the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse where more than one can don the mask. Like much of what we've seen in trailers, the song - and the movie itself - will undoubtedly connect with today's younger generation of viewers. No doubt, this is a version of
Spider-Man we've yet to see on the big screen.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind “The Lego Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters December 14, 2018.
