SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Concept Art Confirms [SPOILER] Was Actually An MCU Variant!

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was packed full of surprises for fans. However, quite easily the biggest was an appearance from Donald Glover as a live-action Prowler.

The actor first played Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, though there wasn't room for him to reprise the role in either Far From Home or No Way Home. Glover previously worked with producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller on Solo: A Star Wars Story but speculation has run rampant in recent weeks that we might see him suit up again in Spider-Man 4

While time will tell on that front, some concept art shared by character designer Kris Anka confirms this Prowler hails from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (he's labelled as "MCU Prowler" in the artwork below).

We can't imagine this is a decision Sony Pictures took upon itself to make, so chances are we will see Glover in the role again down the line. This suit was heavily inspired by the costume seen in 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Marvel Studios could either choose to keep that or, more likely, make some tweaks for Prowler's next MCU appearance.

Miles Morales' live-action debut is long-overdue and there are already rumours that he'll be part of Spider-Man 4. Davis actually references his nephew in a Spider-Man: Homecoming deleted scene, while his interest in tech already laid the groundwork for this crook to become Prowler.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.
