Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to arrive in theatres on April 8th, 2022 and yet we still haven't received a single trailer for the video game movie sequel. We recently put together a listicle compiling all the information that we know thus far about Sonic the Hedgehog 2 which you can check out here.
A reputable leaker and verified Twitter user recently declared that the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is complete, meaning that it's fully edited, done and dusted; Paramount Pictures are simply waiting for a good time to drop it — find out more on that here. What with it being ready to drop, we speculated that it could be released as an early Christmas present and it seems that's what's in store.
The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account recently tweeted directly at Geoff Keighley (@GeoffKeighley), the host of the upcoming Game Awards event, requesting an invite. Keighley jokingly responded back that the Sonic the Hedgehog account doesn't even follow him back.
Regardless, it's clear that something Sonic the Hedgehog is planned to drop at The Game Awards 2021 and, with the first official trailer for the movie sequel supposedly complete, it's almost certainly than likely that.
