Earlier today, Paramount Pictures shared the first official poster for, the upcoming video game movie sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Excluding the post-credits scene of the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, this poster features our first look at Miles Prowler A.K.A. Tails the Fox.
In the video games on which the movies are based, Tails is Sonic's best friend — or one of them, at least. Arguably, the title of Sonic's best friend belongs to both Tails and Knuckles the Echidna, who will also be in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 voiced by Idris Elba.
Until now, we weren't certain who would be the voice of Tails in the sequel, given that it was Ben Schwartz's first time playing Sonic the Hedgehog in the first instalment and Idris Elba's first time playing Knuckles in this upcoming instalment. It seemed that Paramount were opting for more well-known names than the characters' traditional voice actors.
Alas, that is not the case. Colleen O'Shaughnessey has confirmed, via Twitter, that she will be playing Tails in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
O'Shaughnessey has served as the voice actor for the character since 2014, playing Tails in the Sonic Boom animated series as well as various video game entries, such as Team Sonic Racing. O'Shaughnessey also served as the voice of Tails in the aforementioned post-credits scene of the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, that her reprisal will be a nice bit of continuity.
