Scoob! is an upcoming animated movie based on and featuring a plethora of characters from the iconic Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Based on the movie's two official trailers; Scoob! will notably feature the origins of Shaggy and Scooby-Doo's friendship as well as that of Mystery Incorporated in general.
What's more, it seems the movie will predominantly take place in the modern-day wherein Mystery Inc. is an established crime-fighting team. The titular mutt and his best friend will be abducted by Blue Dalcon, Dynomutt, and Dee Dee Sykes while the rest of the gang goes up against Dick Dastardly. Captain Caveman will also feature.
The voice cast includes Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo, Will Forte as Shaggy, Zac Efron as Fred, Amanda Seyfriend as Daphne, and Gina Rodriguez as Velma. Blue Falcon, Dee Dee Sykes, and Dynomutt will be played by Mark Wahlberg, Kiersey Clemons, and Ken Jeong respectively. Jason Isaacs plays Dick Dastardly while Tracy Morgan plays Captain Caveman.
Prior to today, Scoob! was set to arrive in theatres on May 15th, 2020. However, that's no longer the case. Warner Bros. has instead opted to release the animated movie via premium VOD. That is to say that you will be able to rent the movie online much in the same way that was the case for Trolls: World Tour — more on that here.
It will still debut on the same date, just in digital storefronts rather than in theatres. Scoob! will cost $19.99 to rent for a 48-hour period and $24.99 to purchase and keep outright. Scoob! will no be shown in theatres whatsoever. Of course, this decision will have been made on account of the coronavirus pandemic that's unfortunately still ongoing.
We will be sure to keep you updated and notify you when the movie becomes available next month.
