It seems Q*bert was set to venture to the world wide web before Ralph and Vanellope in the sequel to 2012's Wreck-It Ralph. However, the scene never made it past animatics as revealed in the deleted scene below, courtesy of USA Today.
Explaining why the scene was ultimately cut, director/co-writer Phil Johnston stated, "As much as we wanted to see a shell-shocked Q*bert with the thousand-yard stare of a hardened combat veteran, we needed to get Ralph and Vanellope into the Internet more quickly.."
Q*bert was originally set to return to Litwak's Arcade fairly shortly after venturing into the internet but was going to be shellshocked by what he saw.
Ralph Breaks the Internet is currently available on digital platforms and will hit blu-ray and DVD on February 26.
RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET SYNOPSIS
Video-game bad guy Ralph and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz leave the comforts of Litwak's arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet "the Netizens" to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss, the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site "BuzzzTube," and Shank, a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces - so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he's ever had.
