Universal Pictures has shared a brand new trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, their upcoming sequel to the 2011 blockbuster, which sends our titular hero on his most challenging adventure yet as he attempts to recoup the lives he's lost through the course of his many adventures.
Antonio Banderas returns as the voice of the fan-favorite hero, with a supporting cast featuring Salma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws, Harvey Guillén as Perro, Florence Pugh as Goldilocks, John Mulaney as "Big" Jack Horner, Wagner Moura as the Big Bad Wolf, Olivia Colman as Mama Bear, Ray Winstone as Papa Bear, Samson Kayo as Baby Bear, Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Mama Luna, and Anthony Mendez in an undisclosed role.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish opens in theaters on December 21, and it sounds like it'll have its work cut out for it as it opens directly opposite Warner Bros.' Shazam! Fury of the Gods and a week after 20th Century Studios' Avatar: The Way of Water.

In their quest, Puss and Kitty will be aided—against their better judgment—by a ratty, chatty, relentlessly cheerful mutt, Perro (Harvey Guillén, What We Do in the Shadows). Together, our trio of heroes will have to stay one step ahead of Goldilocks (Oscar® nominee Florence Pugh, Black Widow) and the Three Bears Crime Family, “Big” Jack Horner (Emmy winner John Mulaney, Big Mouth) and terrifying bounty hunter, The Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura, Narcos).

The character of Puss in Boots first appeared in 2004’s Oscar®-nominated Shrek 2 and instantly became a global, scene-stealing sensation.
