A couple of days ago, it was
announced that a new Power Rangers movie reboot is in the works at Paramount Pictures. Jonathan Entwistle (
The End of the F***ing World) is in talks to direct a script that's currently being written by Patrick Burleigh (
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway).
It's said that the new film will involve time-travel and sees a group of kids transported back to the 1990s where they presumably acquire their
Power Rangers abilities and take on a nefarious antagonist.
Unfortunately, the announcement of this reboot served as confirmation that the sequel to 2017's
Power Rangers movie was indeed dead in the water. That film starred Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, Becky G, RJ Cyler, and Ludi Lin as the titular team — not to mention Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston as Rita Repulsor and Zordon respectively.
The latter of those
Power Rangers actors recently took to social media to comment on the news of a reboot. Lin, who played Zack A.K.A. the Black Ranger, in 2017's
Power Rangers took to opportunity to show his enthusiasm towards the reboot and wished it the best.
"Amazing news! Another chance to embrace a DIVERSE TEAM of HEROES! I’m a fan!" read Lin's tweet — which you can check out below (via
