The only $1 billion-grossing film released this year that wasn't released by a Disney-affiliated studio was Universal's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

The first film grossed $633.1M worldwide in 2004, and even after that's adjusted for inflation, the sequel has still performed better at the box office.

More impressive is the fact that it still has 14 international territories where it's yet to open, including Japan, Spain, Turkey, Norway, Italy and Germany.

The all-time grossing animated film is Disney Animation's Frozen ($1.276 billion) and it appears that The Incredibles 2 has a solid shot at eclipsing it.
