Disney are currently working on a live-action prequel to 101 Dalmatians which focuses on the animated classic's antagonist. It's called Cruella and will star Academy Award-winning actress Emma Stone as the titular villainess.

Additionally, the cast includes Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility), Mark Strong (Shazam!), Paul Walter Hauser (I, Tonya), Joel Fry (Yesterday), and Emily Beecham (Into the Badlands). The latter of those actors was only announced as a part of the cast the other day. Similarly, now another actress has joined the roster.

According to a new report by Variety, Kirby Howell-Baptiste will feature in Cruella — though there aren't any details on her role just yet. Howell-Baptiste is best known for her various television roles in such shows as Killing Eve, The Good Place, Barry, Veronica Mars, and Why Women Kill.

Cruella is set to arrive in theatres on May 28th, 2021.
