The cast of Disney's upcoming, live-action remake of The Little Mermaid continues to expand as; a new report by The Hollywood Reporter claims that Harry Styles will play the role of Prince Eric.

If you're unfamiliar with Styles; he's most well-known for being a member of, the popular boy band by the name of, One Direction. Since that's groups seeming disbanding, Styles has expanded his horizons into the world of acting. He notably starred in, Christopher Nolan's 2017 epic, Dunkirk.

The role of Prince Eric will be the second major role for the aspiring actor. With The Little Mermaid being a musical and Styles hailing from a pop band, he seems to be a pretty good fit for the film. Similarly, the star of the remake is known for her singing moreso than her acting.

Last month, it was revealed that Halle Bailey would be starring as Ariel in the remake of The Little Mermaid and that Jacob Tremblay (Room) and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) will be playing Flounder and Scuttle respectively. It was also reported that Melissa McCarthy (Ghostbusters) is in talks to play the villainous role of Ursula.
