According to a new report by
Deadline,
Frozen 2 will earn upwards of $100 million at the box office during its opening weekend.
Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad all reprise the roles of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf respectively. However, there are quite a few new additions to the cast — Evan Rachel Wood, Sterling K. Brown, Alfred Molina, Martha Plimpton, Rachel Matthews, and Jason Ritter.
Overall,
Frozen made $1.27 billion at the box office. It was the highest grossing animated movie of all time for a long while. That was until this Summer when
The Lion King stole that title with a total gross of $1.63 billion. However, there's a very good chance that the highly anticipated sequel to
Frozen will be able to take back the crown.
This holiday season, Frozen 2 will go up against the following films:
Jumanji: The Next Level,
Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker, and
Spies In Disguise. The prediction of an over $100 million opening weekend closely lines up with box office forecasts from a couple of months ago which specifically predict $145 million —

Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.
Frozen 2 is set to arrive in theatres on November 22nd, 2019.
