Frozen 2 will be arriving in theatres on November 22nd. Over six years have passed since the first Frozen film released but that apparently isn't a detriment to the sequel as;
Box Office Pro is projecting a massive $145 million opening weekend for
Frozen 2.
Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad will all be reprising the roles of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf respectively. However, there are quite a few new additions to the cast — they're as follows: Evan Rachel Wood, Sterling K. Brown, Alfred Molina, Martha Plimpton, Rachel Matthews, and Jason Ritter.
Frozen made $1.27 billion at the box office and therefore became the highest grossing animated movie of all time. That record was recently overtaken by
The Lion King, which made $1.63 billion, but it seems that the
Frozen franchise might just capable of stealing back the throne.
Specifically, the recent report by the box office experts suggests that
Frozen 2 could open to an amount between $115 million and $145 million. Should that happen, it would be more than double what the $67.3 million opening of the first
Frozen. However, it is worth noting that this is long-range tracking and the predicted amount is subject to change.
This holiday season,
Frozen 2 will be up against
Jumanji: The Next Level,
Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker, and
Spies In Disguise.
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.
Frozen 2 is set to arrive in theatres on November 22nd, 2019.
