Frozen 2 is in theatres now! A sequel to 2013's
Frozen, the animated film sees Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad reprise the roles of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf respectively.
Frozen 2 also introduces some new actors to the cast in Sterling K. Brown, Evan Rachel Wood, Alfred Molina, and more.
On the topic of the latter; a couple of weeks ago, Molina commented on whether there's going to be another
Frozen film. According to the actor, odds are slim —
find out more of what he had to say here. Now that the sequel is out, CinemaBlend put the question to the producer and directors of
Frozen 2.
Near the end of the new animated film, Olaf asks Elsa whether they're going to continue going on such adventures. According to Elsa, they're done. The interviewer asked whether this was supposed to be a meta statement on the possibility of a
Frozen 3. Here's what producer Peter Del Vecho had to say on that:
"I think when we look at these two movies together, what I love about them is you've done an amazing job at weaving them," Del Vecho refers to co-director Jennifer Lee. "[They're] one full story. So, now it feels like a complete journey."
"It feels complete to me but I don't know," said Lee. "Chris [Buck, co-director] says ask him in a year." It seems that a third Frozen film being made is unlikely. However, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how Buck feels in a year from now.
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.
