Mike Judge's iconic duo Beavis and Butt-Head are set to return for an out-of-this-world adventure later this month. Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe will premiere internationally on the Paramount+ streaming service on June 23.
Described in its own trailer as "the dumbest science fiction movie ever made," Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe follow the teenage slackers on a space-faring, time-traveling adventure. After being sentenced to Space Camp, the two find themselves leading a trip to space. But when things go wrong, the pair make their way to a black hole and travel from 1998 to 2022 where they will discover just how much things have changed — and also meet futuristic versions of themselves.
A trailer for the upcoming film, which marks the duo's first appearance in over ten years, is filled with the usual lowbrow humor we've come to expect and love from Beavis and Butt-Head. Although it's been a decade since Beavis and Butt-Head have graced the screens, it appears nothing has changed with them, which should be welcomed news to fans of the original series.
In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-head are sentenced to Space Camp by a "creative" judge in 1998, leading to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don't score.
Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on June 23. Although it marks their return in over a decade, it won't be the last we see of them. A new Beavis and Butt-Head series is coming later this year. And if you've never seen the original show, all 200-plus episodes are headed to the streaming service as well.
