Batman: Soul of the Dragon has released on Digital. Fans can check out the latest entry in the DC Universe Movies animated series across digital storefronts, including the Microsoft Store, Movies Anywhere, Google Play, iTunes, and Apple TV. It's available for purchase for $19.99.
In celebration of the animated movie's release, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has shared the opening sequence, which sets the tone for this "supernatural-laden martial arts extravaganza."
Batman: Soul of the Dragon is produced by DC Comics animation legend Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond). The film takes the Dark Knight back to the 1970s as Bruce Wayne (voiced by David Giuntoli) teams up with world-renowned martial artists Richard Dragon, Ben Turner, and Lady Shiva to battle demonic monsters.
Set in the midst of the swinging 1970s, this Elseworlds adventure finds Bruce Wayne (voiced by David Giuntoli) training under a master sensei. It is here that Bruce, along with other elite students, is forged in the fire of the martial arts discipline. The lifelong bonds they form will be put to the test when a deadly menace arises from their past. It will take the combined efforts of Batman, world-renowned martial artists Richard Dragon (Mark Dacascos), Ben Turner (Michael Jai White), Lady Shiva (Kelly Hu) and their mentor O-Sensei (James Hong) to battle the monsters of this world and beyond!
Batman: Soul of the Dragon is directed and produced by Sam Liu (Regin of the Superman, Batman: The Killing Joke) and scripted by Jeremy Adams (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge). The R-rated film has received mostly positive reception in its limited number of reviews so far. It's been praised for its stellar voice cast and thrilling martial arts action choreography.
