Sonic the Hedgehog will be racing into theatres on February 14th in his very own live-action feature film. Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey star as the titular speedster and Dr. Robotnik respectively while James Marsden and Tika Sumpter play Tom and Maddie Wachowski — Jeff Fowler directs.
Plenty of TV spots for the upcoming movie have released over the last couple of days — what with the theatrical release fast approaching. This new one is all about Sonic's childhood which he spent living on a peaceful island that fans of the
Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will definitely recognise.
It seems that Green Hill Zone is where Sonic grew up. The titular speedster recalls his younger years whilst a young version of his sprints through the perilous terrain like it's nothing. This TV spot released earlier this month and
revealed Baby Sonic for the first time. However, it was entirely Japanese. Thankfully, this time around we can actually understand the dialogue.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
