Aladdin has been in theatres for just over a month's time. The film told the classic tale of the titular street rat coming across a genie in a lamp and therefore being entitled to three magic wishes. It stars Mena Masoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, and Will Smith as the genie.
The live-action retelling of the classic animated film is still raking in revenue to this day. It's said that
Aladdin earned another $2.9 million on Friday. According to
Exhibitor Relations Co., soon the film will almost certainly cross the milestone of $300 million at the domestic box office.
Should it accomplish this feat,
Aladdin would be the third film of 2019 to do so.
Captain Marvel managed to make $426 million at the domestic box office and
Avengers: Endgame currently sits at $837 million domestically. The latter could rake in even more with its recent re-release.
Though
Toy Story 4 only released recently, it's likely that the new animated film will also reach this point - having already made $196 million domestically. An interesting tidbit that you might have noticed about this exclusive club is that it entirely consists of Disney films.
