With D23 2019 right around the corner, Disney continues to announce new panels — some of which are dedicated to some of the House of Mouse's beloved animated classics.
On Saturday, August 24, there will be
"A Musical Celebration of Aladdin" panel that celebrates the upcoming home releases of the new live-action
Aladdin as well as Walt Disney Animation Studios' animated
Aladdin, which
will be arriving in the Walt Disney Signature Collection.
Another panel is "
Two Worlds, One Family: The Making of Tarzan," (Sunday, August 25)
which promises a "behind-the-scenes look at how the Walt Disney Animation Studios film came to be." Guests include
directors Chris Buck (
Frozen 2) and Kevin Lima (
Enchanted) as well as a special performance by Matthew Morrison (Glee) from his forthcoming Walt Disney Records album.
The
"Disney Character Voices, Inc: The 30th Anniversary Celebration" panel on Sunday, August 25 will take guests on a journey with Rick Dempsey, SVP of Character Voices, and many other famous voices — including Tony Anselmo (“Donald”), Jodi Benson (“Ariel”), Bill Farmer (“Goofy” and “Pluto”), Bret Iwan (“Mickey Mouse”), and Linda Larkin (“Jasmine”), and more — as they celebrate "this joyous anniversary through stories and amazing voices!"
Throughout the weekend, there will be plenty of other panels featuring famous actors and voices, including Ashley Eckstein (
Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) in the
"Heroines of the Disney Galaxies — Presented by BoxLunch" panel on Sunday, August 25. Celebrating "some of the most inspiring and empowered heroines from the worlds of Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and more," this panel will feature special guests Sana Amanat (VP of Content & Character Development, Marvel), Ally Maki (
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, Toy Story 4), and Christy Carlson Romano (
Kim Possible, Even Stevens, Big Hero 6: The Series).
This is all in addition to an already exciting slate of presentations and panels, including the
"Marvel Animation’s Venom Invasion and a World Premiere!" panel,
The Simpsons panel, the
Walt Disney Animation Studios panel (featuring sneak peeks at Frozen 2, Onward, and Soul), and
the Disney+ First Look Showcase.
D23 Expo will take place in Anaheim Convention Center from August 23-25, 2019.
