Disney+ is one of the streaming services filled with the most nostalgia-inducing films and series. One of these is
The Proud Family as all seasons of the groundbreaking animated series are currently available to stream on the provider. But that isn't all because Disney+ has also given a series order to the long-awaited revival,
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
The new series looks like it will have the same feel as the original as it retains the voice cast that is well known for lending their talents to
The Proud Family 18 years ago. This includes Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, and Cedric The Entertain as Uncle Bobby Proud.
In a joint statement released by Brian W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar the production duo stated that in their minds "the show never really went away" as they still had plenty of ideas left to tell. This should come as welcome news to fans of the original series. Take a look at the concept art for the characters from Disney's upcoming
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder below!
Picking up the story of its central character Penny Proud, the new series will also include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!).
Of course, it would not be "The Proud Family" without Penny's loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others.
All previous seasons of The Proud Family are currently available on Disney+. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will hit the streaming service at an undisclosed date.
