Funko has unveiled a new line of adorable Funko Pop figurines for Disney's WALL-E, the criminally underated Pixar movie about two robots who find love amidst the uninhabitable, deserted Earth.
There are ten different figures, some of which are only available at specific retailers. There's a two pack featuring Wall-e and Eva that's only available at Target for $17.99. It has Wall-E holding the cooler and Eva, holding a light bulb. There's also a Funko.com exclusive one of Wall-E holding his "Hello, Dolly!" trash can hat.
Big Apple Collectbiles has a set of four of them available for $52.99. It includes Wall-E with the fire extinguisher and Eve flying, so you can recreate the magnificent "Define Dancing" space number. It also includes two versions of Mo, the small cleaning robot aboard the Axiom with a big personality. You can also find each of these figures individually on the Funko website. My personal favorite is the one that features Wall-E and Eve holding hands on the bench with the lightbulb strand wrapped around her.
No specific release date was announced, although the Target website lists its two pack exclusive coming on November 14, 2021.
Released in 2008, WALL-E was directed by Andrew Stanton, who also co-wrote alongside Jim Reardon. The story was originated by both Stanton and the legendary Pete Docter, who is now serving as Chief Creative Officer of Pixar. The film was unique in that it featured very little dialogue but still managed to express so much story and emotion. WALL-E grossed $521.3 million worldwide and received universal acclaim.
Despite all of its accolades and awards, WALL-E is incredibly underrepresented in the Disney parks, and there's also little merchandise surrounding the film, so it's refreshing to see this new line of Funko Pops! coming.
