Before Disney acquired Fox was finalized, there were many projects in the works that wound up never seeing the light of day. A few of the big titles that hit the cutting room floor were Dr. Doom, Kitty Pryde, Silver Surfer.

Live-action projects weren't the only ones affected, as there were initially plans for an animated universe on Hulu. Following in the footsteps of Netflix, the streamer was set to roll out four series culminating in their own version of The Defenders.

Aptly titled The Offenders, the big team-up was to follow animated series focusing on Hit-Monkey, Tigra & Dazzler, Howard the Duck, and M.O.D.O.K. Although most of those projects were discarded once Disney+ started rolling out their own titles, M.O.D.O.K. is still set for release.

The show features Patton Oswalt (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) in the titular role and is aimed at an adult audience. In the fashion of Robot Chicken, the series is stop-motion, and despite its animated fashion, many fans have been hoping that the series could cross over into the MCU. However, those hopes have now been dashed as co-creator, and writer Jordan Blum has revealed that they exist within their own universe, a small corner of the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse.

Although M.O.D.O.K. may not exist within Earth-19999, Blum has revealed that it is instead in Earth-1226, the designation inspired by his son's birthday. Check out what Blum had to say about the process below.

"Yeah, we're our own universe. I think like, you know, Harley Quinn is a good example of like, that's not the movies, but it's really cool actually. Marvel has like a database of all the universes in the multiverse, and there's a guy who runs it, and they let me pick the numbering of our universe. My son's birthday, 12/26, is our universe, so we were in the Marvel Multiverse, which is awesome."

Blum certainly seems happy with the way things turned out, but what about you guys? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

You should fix the title. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is just one universe. The one will all the Avengers related films plus WandaVision and Falcon/Winter Soldier.

If this isn’t in Earth-19999, it’s not in the MCU. It’s in the Marvel Multiverse but not in the MCU.
