Now that Disney owns everything FOX, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has benefitted the most. Not only does this mean that nearly all of the Marvel characters are now up for grabs in the MCU, but it also means that fans will finally see faithful adaptations of characters like Storm, The Thing, Nightcrawler, The Human Torch, Wolverine, and countless more with Feige's vision for The Mutants and Fantastic 4.
One of the unexpected crossovers that fans may not have been expecting was Disney mashing their live-action projects with traditional FOX families like The Simpsons. However, the animated sitcom has celebrated its synergy with Star Wars with the special The Force Awakens From Its Nap, but the town of Springfield is now setting its sights on the MCU.
2021 has been a busy year for Marvel, with WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier paving the way for next week's release of Black Widow. More importantly, in this situation, episodes of Loki are currently hitting the streaming platform each Wednesday, which is precisely why the new Simpsons special revolves around the God of Mischief.
Alongside Episode 5 of Loki next Wednesday, July 7th, Disney+ is also dropping The Simpsons: The Good, The Bart, and The Loki. But, perhaps the most exciting is that Tom Hiddleston will also be voicing the titular God of Mischief in the animation.
The poster above shows mash-ups such as Milhouse/Hawkeye, Flanders/Ant-Man, Moe/Vision, Barney/Iron Man, Ralph/Hulk, and those are only half of the characters present in the artwork clearly inspired by the Avengers: Endgame poster.
There is speculation that these two projects could actually tie together, with the silliness of Loki allowing for a potential animated cameo and the plot of the series making it possible for the God of Mischief to enter the Springfield in a branched timeline. However, it's not a good idea to get our hopes up, as this is likely just a well-timed release.
At any rate, it'll be nice to hear Hiddleston ham it up with the cast of The Simpsons, but what do you guys think? Will you be tuning in for the crossover special? Which character mash-up are you most excited for? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual spot!
The Simpsons: The Good, The Bart, and The Loki starts streaming on Disney+ on July 7th.
