After being delayed due to COVID-19, Cruella de Vil is finally ready to hit the big screen again. Disney's Cruella -- a live-action origin story about the iconic villain -- releases in theaters on Friday, May 28. However, due to the pandemic, it will also be premiering simultaneously on the Disney+ streaming service.
As I previously noted, Cruella will have that pesky Premier Access fee attached to it on Disney+. That means even if you are a Disney+ subscriber, you'll have to pay a one-time fee of $29.99 to watch it.
Of course, you could just wait for it to become free. Eventually all Disney movies, even the ones that released with the Premier Access fee, become free on Disney+ for those who already subscribe to the streaming service.
Disney has confirmed that Cruella will join the Disney+ collection on August 27, which means you'll have to wait three months before you can watch it without having to pay extra.
So basically, you have three options if you want to watch the movie. Go to the movies and enjoy it on the big screen. Pay the $30 Premier Access fee and watch it on Disney+ from the comfort of your home. Or simply wait the three months and watch it for free when it becomes an official part of the Disney+ collection.
