Frozen 2 debuted in theatres back in November. The sequel to 2013's Frozen went on to become the second-highest-grossing animated movie of all time — behind Disney's relatively recent remake of The Lion King — as well as the tenth highest-grossing movie of all-time. Frozen 2 wasn't only a financial success, having earned $1.4 billion overall, but also a critical one.
While the animated movie didn't earn a nomination in the "Best Animated Feature" category at the Academy Awards, it did earn a nomination in the "Best Original Song" category for Idina Menzel's performance of "Into the Unknown." Speaking of "Into the Unknown," there's a behind-the-scenes documentary titled as such coming to Disney+ on June 26th — more on that here.
The animated movie itself has been available to stream on Disney+ since March in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands — more on that here. However, those in the United Kingdom and Ireland weren't let in on it. Thankfully, though, soon Disney+ subscribers in the United Kingdom and Ireland will be able to stream Frozen 2.
Recently announced by Disney+ UK over on Instagram (via @DisneyPlusUK), Frozen 2 will be available to watch on the Disney streaming service in the United Kingdom and Ireland from July 3rd. That's just about a month's time from now. While there's still a bit of a wait to go, it's actually two weeks earlier than the release was originally scheduled for.
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.
