The Ice Age animated film series began way back in 2002 with the first entry featuring Ray Romano as Manny the mammoth, John Leguizamo as Sid the sloth, and Denis Leary as Diego the sabre-toothed tiger. It's the third instalment from 2009, titled Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, that introduced the weasely character of Buck Wild.
While the film series was produced by Blue Sky Studios under 20th Century Fox, both have now been consumed by Disney. Thus, a new instalment in the animated film series is coming out soon and heading straight for Disney's streaming service.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild will reintroduce Buck Wild and also feature, the possum brothers, Crash and Eddie as they embark on an adventure to save the lost world from dinosaur domination. Simon Pegg will reprise the role of Buck. The Disney+ original animated film will be available to stream via the service from January 28th, 2022.
A month and a bit out from then, as we are now, Disney has shared a new poster for the upcoming film which features Buck in a Bear Grylls-esque pose betwixt the jaws of, presumably, a Tyrannosaurus rex. Check it out below (via @DisneyStudios):
Desperate for some distance from their older sister Ellie, the thrill-seeking possum brothers Crash and Eddie set out to find a place of their own, but quickly find themselves trapped in the Lost World, a massive cave underground. They are rescued by their one-eyed pal, the adventure-loving, dinosaur-hunting weasel Buck Wild, and together embark on a mission to save the Lost World from dinosaur domination.
