The Disney Family Singalong was a bit of a viral phenomenon back when it aired on ABC two weeks ago. It's a television special hosted by Ryan Seacrest which saw a plethora of celebrities put on a show and each perform one of their favourite Disney songs — all from their own homes what with the lockdown going on due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Big names such as Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera, Auli'i Cravalho, Darren Criss, Josh Gad, Luke Evans, Vanessa Hudgens, and many more performed. Even more celebs were present for a short while but didn't perform, such as Zac Efron and Elle Fanning, who instead opted to introduce those that would actually perform.
Such classic Disney songs as "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Hercules, "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella, "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" from Frozen, "How Far I'll Go" from Moana, and countless more were performed but we wouldn't want to spoil them all.
In case you haven't seen the Disney Family Singalong for yourself, it's now available to stream on Disney+ — more on that here. It will be worth catching up because there's a sequel coming soon! ABC has announced that Disney Family Singalong: Volume II will air on May 10th at 7 PM EDT (via Deadline). That's Mother's Day for those in the United States.
None of the lineup has yet been announced. However, at least some of the celebrities who will feature in the follow-up will presumably be announced prior to airing. Though some will probably be kept as a surprise for those who tune in — as was the case with Ariana Grande and Beyoncé last time around.
Perhaps some from the prior instalment will return to perform once again. Perhaps even more or bigger names will appear now that the show is a sure-fire hit. We'll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned to Toonado and we will be sure to keep you updated on the upcoming television special. You can check out a couple of the performances from the first Disney Family Singalong below:
