This past weekend, Disney announced that the season finale to one of their shows had been delayed via social media. Amphibia, which Matt Braly creates, was initially set to drop on Saturday, the day after the announcement was made public.
Getting short-term notice about the delay was enough to outrage fans of the animated series, but the fact that a release date for the finale still hasn't been released isn't helping matters one bit.
To complicate things even further, iTunes still released the episode because of the last-second announcement and unexpected delay. There wasn't enough time for the streaming service to make the necessary updates, and fans could purchase and view the finale, titled True Colors, ahead of the rest of the audience.
Unfortunately, because there are people with access to the episode, it has hit the internet already. This allows it to be pirated by disgruntled fans who refuse to wait for a yet-to-be-announced finale for Amphibia.
To counter the issue and hopefully impact the decisions made by potential viewers, the creator put together a message with the help of Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Full Metal Alchemist) and released it to Twitter.
Did you guys enjoy hearing Baker get into character as Grime for the public request? Will you be waiting for the official release? Be sure to sound off below with your thoughts!
