The Simpsons Season 32, Episode 4 "Treehouse of Horror XXXI" was supposed to premiere on FOX last Sunday (October 18th).
It's one of the long-running animated series' traditions; a Halloween episode that's filled to the brim with haunting tales and spooky imagery. Last year's "Treehouse of Horror" episode features frightening parodies of such pop-culture hits as Netflix's Stranger Things and, Academy Award-winning film, The Shape of Water.
Well, this time around The Simpsons will be tackling Toy Story, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and 2008 comedy Be Kind Rewind. First of all, though, the episode will begin with a segment in which Homer will be the only one not wearing a protective mask to the 2020 elections.
An official trailer for the episode was actually released just a few days ago, on October 17th — you can check that out here.
Well, it turns out that "Treehouse of Horror XXXI" has been delayed to November 1st (via @TheSimpsons). This change was made due to FOX's sports schedule; "Postponement is due to Game 7 of the NLCS," the official Twitter account for The Simpsons has revealed.
Suffice it to say, the COVID-19 pandemic has royally spun things around. So, unfortunately, we will have to enjoy the annual Halloween episode of The Simpsons a day after Halloween itself.
The Simpsons Season 32, Episode 4 "Treehouse of Horror XXXI" premieres on November 1st, 2020 at 8 PM on FOX.
