The Simpsons is on its thirty-second season. What else is new? Well, now it's spooky season, it's time for a Halloween tradition. Tomorrow (Sunday, October 18th), at 8 PM on FOX, The Simpsons Season 32, Episode 4 "Treehouse of Horror XXXI" will air. It's the thirty-first of its kind, an episode of The Simpsons entirely dedicated to frightening short stories.
There will be four segments this time around. Last year, The Simpsons tackled such pop culture hits as Stranger Things and The Shape of Water. Similarly, this year's Treehouse of Horror episode will almost entirely consist of parodies.
The opening is rather timely and will see Homer being the only one to not wear a mask to the 2020 elections. The second segment is a haunting take on Toy Story, it's called "Toy Gory." The third is a parody of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse called "Into the Homer-verse." The final segment is a spoof of 2008 comedy Be Kind Rewind, titled "Be Nine, Rewind."
Earlier this week, 20th Century Studios shared a clip from the upcoming episode — you can check that out here. Well, now they have released an actual official trailer for Treehouse of Horror XXXI. Check it out below (via @TheSimpsons):
